Background information: Mouse monoclonal anti-FLAG antibody, clone 2EL-1B11 recognize FLAG fusion proteins. The FLAG epitope is a polypeptide protein tag that can be added to a protein utilizing DNA technology, having the sequence motif DYKDDDDK. FLAG-tag can be applied in diverse assays that need recognition by an antibody. Due to its small size, FLAG tag does not disturb the biochemical properties, transport, or post-translational modifications of the tagged protein or its interaction with other proteins. These properties give researchers important tools to investigate protein expression, modification, localization, transport etc.
