Specificity: | Livin is a short-lived protein that is thought to be degraded by the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. Thus users may want to do a time course when examining the effects of treatments on Livin expression. Users are encouraged to refer to the literature for additional information; for example, Ma et al. 2006. Livin has been shown to undergo proteolytic cleavage during apoptosis. Thus the molecular weight of Livin observed on Western blots may vary depending on the presence of absence of cleavage fragments. |
